Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

In case you are complete cooking challenged like me, I thought I’d share my fool-proof method for hard boiling eggs so you can put them on a yummy cobb salad. (Yes, I know they are actually called hard cooked eggs, but I’ve been calling them boiled for my whole life and I’m not about to change now).  This method makes a perfect egg every time, and they are easy to peel. Did you know they don’t smell like sulfur unless you over cook them?

Ingredients
  1. Eggs
Instructions
  1. Place eggs in a saucepan. Make sure the pan is big enough that the eggs can be completely covered by water. Add enough water to completely cover the eggs.
  2. Bring water to a rolling boil. Once the water boils, cover the pan and remove from heat.
  3. Let eggs sit in the covered pot for 7 minutes. While you are waiting, prepare an ice bath by filling a bowl with water and ice.
  4. After 7 minutes, drain water and place eggs in an ice bath for 5 minutes. The ice bath stops cooking and makes sure the eggs aren't over done.
  5. Put the eggs back in the pan and roll them around so they hit the sides and other eggs and crack all over. Put cracked eggs back in the ice bath. Wait 2 minutes. The water will seep into the cracks and under the shell, making the eggs easier to peel.
  6. Peel eggs and enjoy.
