And tonight I am half way through making my first attempt at homemade bagels. Well second attempt, the first batch didn’t get past the first step and I had to throw the dough away and start over. I had either too much flour or too little water, because I had crumbs, not dough. For my second try I was much more careful about measuring and so far so good. I have never made any sort of bread before, so I don’t really know what I’m doing, but it is currently rising, and as soon as I’m done writing this, I’m going to go make it into rings and let them rise some more. Fun stuff.
