Long time, no see

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile. As you might have noticed (or not?), my last post was, like, 20 months ago. So what have I been up to for the past year and a half?

Mostly, I had a baby. Two days after we brought home Moxie, I discovered that we were expecting. Now I totally blame the dog on crazy pregnancy hormones, because I am not a dog person and the fact that I suddenly wanted a puppy struck everyone as odd. Of course that didn’t stop Ryan from taking full advantage. Anywho, preparing for our little one’s arrival took center stage and my blogging fell to the wayside.

Fast forward 9 months, and our son Liam was born on November 1. He was born with a birth defect that we had no idea about ahead of time, so we spent the longest 24 days of my life at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. He had surgery at 4 days old to repair his congenital diaphragmatic hernia. We were warned that there could be complications, and it could be months before he would be well enough to come home, but Liam is a rockstar, and we were very fortunate to have best case scenario type results. We finally brought our new baby home on November 25. He has had no long term effects, except a scar on his belly, and he is a happy, healthy 10 month old today.

So the past 10 months have been spent adjusting to life as a family three. A couple months ago I decided to start blogging again to document my crafting. Since I hadn’t posted here in so long I decided to start a new blog and tried out blogger instead of WordPress. Every time I looked up how to do something, such as add a pin it button or create a printer friendly recipe, the answer was always “this is really easy in WordPress, here is the convoluted way you have to do it in blogger.” So I’m back. I’m going to try importing my blogger posts here and we’ll see what kind of luck I have going forward. So stay tuned…
